Tuesday, hundreds of local residents and Viejas Tribal members gathered to celebrate the “topping off” ceremony at the site of the new  5 story Viejas Hotel.

Mr. Anderson said California is facing great challenges; we need to increase revenue and put people back to work.  Those are the areas that are most important at this time.  In the last election a new State Board was seated.   He then opened the floor for questions from the audience.

To whom it may concern. Our community which borders the Cleveland National Forest is in imminent danger to catastrophic wildfire. Your crews in 2005 masticated native brush at a distance of least 300 feet from our property lines into the bordering Cleveland National Forest.

Now the brush is fully grown back and put us in grave danger to catastrophic wildfire. In addition the Sunrise Power Link’s transmission towers and cables have been erected and will now inhibit Cal Fire’s ability to control seasonal wildfires.
