Ghosties and Goulies, Witches Brew, children of all ages turned out for the Halloween Hullabaloo!
Alpine Elementary kicked the evening off last Friday with their annual Halloween Carnival, welcoming all of Alpine to come and celebrate the fun with games, cakewalks, and a haunted house. Little goblins, witches, superheroes, fairies, princesses, and even a minion showed up to celebrate in their creative costume finery. The imagination that is displayed in all of the wonderful costumes and décor is amazing. It truly brings the holiday to life as children romp in their make-believe magical make-up.
When the carnival closed at Alpine Elementary, everyone could swoop over to Shadow Hills Elementary School for their annual Fall Festival, continuing the evening of fun with fantastic food, and more games to play. The Parent Teacher Student Associations put out an incredible amount of time and energy to bring these events to our community. The time and planning begins almost on the first day of school. The businesses of Alpine also helps a great amount by donating food and prizes so that our children can participate in the age-old tradition of the quintessential Halloween Carnival.
The Backcountry also had events that echoed through the night. Lions, Tigers and Bears hosted a Spooky Sleepover that featured a good old-fashioned Halloween party with a costume contest and s’mores along with an overnight stay under the stars. Visitors provided their own tents, for an opportunity to spend a Wild and Ghoulish night with the big cats! In the morning everyone carved pumpkins to share in another contest.
The Pumpkin Express, pumpkin patch and haunted train brought an opportunity for everyone to participate in a little bit of history. It was a spooky time to take a vintage train-ride with a haunted flare. Costumed attendants had some fun creating a creepy atmosphere and posing for photos.
Pine Valley Academy also threw a decadent dance for all the students who wanted to dance under the moon! The costumes again were amazing as scary ghosts, a nimble Pan, Zombies and even a Lego man showed up to do the Electric Slide. A Cake-walk, a Haunted House, and a music beat that moved your feet.
