Steele Canyon Open House
Steele Canyon High School Open House and Enrollment
Steele Canyon High School, A California Charter School, is hosting two Open House events. The Open Houses are for parents (and their students) of incoming 9th grade and upper grade students who are interested in learning more about our Charter School, program goals and educational philosophy. The Open Houses will be held on the Steele Canyon High School campus located at 12440 Campo Road in Spring Valley. Please plan to attend one of the two days offered, Thursday, January 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Saturday, February 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. During each of the Open Houses, there will be opportunities to get information at various tables, such as: academic programs, athletics, student clubs, P.T.O, booster clubs, and organizations. A general information session will be held in the theater about the Charter School and attendance at Steele Canyon for students who live both within and outside the historical boundaries of Steele Canyon High School.
The Open Enrollment process for Steele Canyon High School begins Monday, January 28, 2013 and ends on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Steele Canyon remains as committed as ever to embracing incoming ninth grade students from our local middle schools. We welcome all incoming ninth grade students residing within Steele Canyon’s historical attendance boundaries. We encourage parents to select our school as the next step in their student’s educational experience.
Steele Canyon will be honoring its traditional historical boundaries for enrollment as stated in our Charter Document:
Preference in admissions will be given to students residing with the Attendance Boundary for Steele Canyon High School set by GUHSD at the beginning of the 2006-07 school year, including Option Areas . . . It is anticipated that the majority of students electing to enroll will continue to come from the suburban east San Diego communities of Spring Valley, Jamul,
El Cajon, Alpine, La Mesa, and Lemon Grove.
