Did new congressman tip his hand?

Jim Markham, Alpine

Was one of the first votes on January 6, 2021 by our Representative, Darrell Issa a big tell of what is to come from him?

How does an autocrat gain power?

Autocracy is a form of government. In modern times, most autocrats gain power as part of a larger nationalist, communist, or fascist movement. … Once in power, they eliminate all other kinds of authority in the country, such as judges, the legislature, and political parties. I am a resident of Alpine and I did not vote for Darrell Issa.

I must express my disappointment in the dangerous vote Darrell Issa made as our representative on January 6, 2021. A historical day that no one will forget in our history.

On this day, Darrell Issa supported Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley and voted to object to counting of Biden’s electoral votes in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

On behalf of his constituents in the 50th District of California, he objected, first, before the storming of the U.S. Capitol. Then hours later, he objected to another State electoral votes. (Darrell Issa was one of a handful of other California representatives objecting to the electoral votes submitted by Arizona and Pennsylvania)

You did make history on this day along with Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. #neverforget

For those who want to know the facts on how the electoral votes were determined in Pennsylvania here is a summary https://twitter.com/NBCNew sstatus/1347074579739652097 ?s=20

Issa is the representative for California’s 50th congressional district and is a Republican. He has served since Jan 3, 2021. Issa is next up for reelection in 2022 and serves until Jan 3, 2023.
