The Regional Task Force on Homelessness has postponed the 2022 in-person Point in Time count from a previously announced date of Jan. 27 to Feb. 24.
Volunteers will meet at assigned deployment sites at 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 24 and conduct the count until 8 a.m., as planned for the previous date. N95 face masks will be provided for volunteers to help safeguard against the transmission of COVID- 19.
The annual count includes dozens of volunteers who go out in teams and physically count the number of unsheltered homeless individuals they encounter in the middle of the night on assigned census blocks throughout San Diego county for an unfunded, federally-mandated initiative.
Visit www.rtfhsd.org for more information on how collected data is used or to volunteer for the count.
