Thought for the Week: Trinity of Being

One of the ways mankind has dealt with understanding God is to equate or break this infinite concept down to three parts – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which in the Christian tradition is called the Trinity. The Father is the generating, creative Spirit, Son is the human side brought to us as a counselor and friend and Holy Spirit is that essence or energy that is within us bringing grace, guidance and direction.

In the Science of Mind Textbook, Ernest Holmes states, “Man is a threefold principle of life and action, he is spirit, soul and body.” He delineates the Trinity this way: “There is the Thing (Absolute Intelligence or Spirit), the way It works (Absolute Law) and what It does (the results or manifestations)”. Spirit is the creative force which is consciousness. Law is the subconscious, receptive force that sets the will of Spirit into motion and the Body (result or effect) brings the experience brought forth from Spirit, working through the Law or subconscious into our experience.

The three-fold nature of Life helps our human mind break down and understand what is truly incomprehensible to our finite minds. Whether you look at the trinity as Father, Son and Holy Ghost or Spirit, Law and Body is irrelative in the bigger picture of life. Because the truth of the matter is that there is One force, energy, presence that works Its way through the human experience.

As we are receptive to and cooperate with this holy of holies within our own being, we are given loving guidance and direction. As we learn to step our egoic nature aside, we are thus available to let and allow the infinite creative spiritual force to bring out good and more good in and through our lives.

Say with me: “I am open and receptive to expecting and seeing the action of Love work Its mysterious wonders through my life today and always. And it is so.”
