Do you know someone in need of internet access at home? We can help. San Diego County Library has acquired 2,000 hotspots via the Emergency Connectivity Fund to circulate to members of the community in need of internet access. We have t h e m a v a i l – able to check out right now! Please spread the word.

November is NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, and the library is hosting Come Write In on Thursdays, Nov. 9 & 30 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Writeins are scheduled opportunities for budding and established authors to take advantage of dedicated time to focus on writing. We will provide hot drinks and snacks, and even a laptop if you need one. You bring the creativity!

We have two programs this month that will appeal to history buffs and genealogists. On Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Jack Innis, the award-winning author of San Diego Legends, presents a San Diego Oasis class, Amazing Stories from San Diego’s Past. Did you know that during WWII, Bing Crosby’s “Bomber Builders” took over the Del Mar Racetrack to build aircraft? Get the full story, and many more about San Diego!

On Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. join us for “What Was Great Grandpa Really Like?” Certified Master Graphologist, Paula A. Sassi, explains how the basic tenets of handwriting analysis can be applied to the research and study of our ancestors. Bring handwriting samples from your family to learn more about them!

The San Diego Air & Space Museum returns on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 10:30 a.m. to present their popular Storytime Engineers program for preschoolers. Delve into the movement of birds, butterflies and people as we talk about journeys.

All library programs are possible with the generous support of the Alpine Library Friends Association.

Open the attached events calendar for a complete schedule or visit sdcl.org/alpine. Please note the changes in days this month for Feeling Fit Club.
