The holiday season is here, and we’re excited to share a variety of festive events and activities for all ages. Here’s what’s happening at the library this December:
Kick off your holiday shopping at the Alpine Library Friends Association Annual Holiday Book Sale on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All books are Buy One, Get One Free, and gift certificates are available – perfect for stocking stuffers!
Celebrate the season at Winterfest on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 4 – 5 p.m.! Get creative with fun crafts like snowy owls, holiday cards, or beaded bracelets. Add some sparkle to your day by visiting with the Alpine Princess Ambassadors or getting a snowflake glitter tattoo! Enjoy the festive melodies of carolers as you mingle throughout the library. Snap family photos in front of our winter forest photo wall. Shop for gifts at our bookstore and Girl Scouts will wrap your purchases for free! Top it all off with hot cocoa, cookies, and a special showing of a Muppet-inspired twist on a Charles Dickens classic.
Families with little ones won’t want to miss A Silly Holiday Show on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Marae for songs, puppets, and holiday fun featuring Frosty the Snowman. This interactive program is perfect for children ages 0-7 and their families, encouraging a love of music and reading.
Music fans, grab your ukuleles and join our Ukulele Jam Session on Thursday, Dec. 19, from noon – 2 p.m. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, you’re welcome to strum along and enjoy some singing (optional). Sheet music will be provided, so just bring your instrument and enthusiasm! This is a new program that will take place the first and third Thursdays of every month.
As the year winds down, help us make a difference during our Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from noon – 5 p.m. Donating blood this holiday season not only saves lives but also supports the library. If we collect 14 units, the library receives a $100 Amazon gift card to enhance our programs! Sign up at RedCrossBlood.org using sponsor code AlpineBL.
We can’t wait to celebrate the holidays with you. From crafting and caroling to giving back and spreading joy, there’s something for everyone this December at the library. All library programs are free and open to the public. Thank you to the Alpine Library Friends Association for their generous support!
See you at the library!
