Mountain View Learning Academy, an Alpine Union School, is known for their unique family centered educational program. Once a month the school sponsors a “Family Fun Day” on their campus. These days center around activities that are fun for the whole family. Activities include: art, S.T.E.M. challenges, gardening, and service oriented projects.
Recently, Mountain View Learning Academy worked with “Lids of Encouragement” an organization that feeds people in need in the San Diego area. Our students and their families designed inspirational lids to place on food containers that are distributed to the homeless in the downtown area. Mountain View families drew vibrant pictures and wrote words of inspiration and learned that kind words of encouragement can positively impact those in need.
The purpose of the Family Fun Days is to connect families not only to the school, but also with each other and the community at large. The Family Fun Days take place at the Mountain View Community Center located on Shadow Hill’s campus in room 30 once a month. The newly remodeled community center is place where families can connect, study, and grow both socially and academically.
