Cherie Garewal stands with Easy Keeper in front of Bullseye Feed.

After eight years of being in business on Alpine Boulevard, Bullseye Feed owner Cherie Garewal is packing up the contents of the store and consolidating to her remaining Descanso location.

Garewal ran a hand over Easy Keeper, the large statue of a horse who stands sentry in front of the store and said it is a challenge to keep doors open at an independent, locally owned shop.

She said she is eager to focus solely on the more rural Descanso shop.

“We will still make deliveries out of the other store but I encourage all of Alpine to support other small, local businesses like Natural Instincts. I also want to thank everyone for all the years of support,” Garewal said.

Noting the American eagle and flag motif currently painted on Easy Keeper, whose paint scheme changes with passing seasons and holidays, Garewal said she specifically commissioned local artist Anne Langstaff to decorate the Alpine icon one final time before he is moved to Descanso.

The Descano Feed store is located at 25077 Viejas Blvd.
