March is a great time to explore new activities, connect with the community, and enjoy everything the library has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you for a month filled with learning, creativity, and fun!
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us! Enjoy a morning of Irish storytelling and music on Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. – noon. Máirtín de Cógáin, an Irish bodhrán player and masterful storyteller, will be joined by fiddler and guitarist Pete Polanski for an engaging performance filled with ballads and reels. This event is a Center for World Music Community Partnership Concert, fun for all ages!
Families with children can get creative with our Leprechaun Catcher Craft on Saturday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. All supplies, including leprechaun bait, will be provided, and each child will make their own unique trap! This project is perfect for kids ages 5 and up.
If you’re looking for a fun and social game, join our new Chinese Mahjong Meetup every Friday from 10 a.m. – noon. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and no registration is required—just bring your Mahjong set if you have one!
Teens are invited to participate in our Teen Read & Art Contest. Pick up a free copy of Peak by Roland Smith at the library, or read or listen to it on our free app, Libby. Create an original work of art inspired by the book and submit it between April 10-12. Your art will be featured in an art show open to the whole community on April 15. The top two pieces will each win a $50 Visa gift card!
There’s something for everyone this month at the library. For more information, open the attached events calendar or connect with us online at sdcl.org/alpine and facebook.com/AlpineLibrary. All library programs are free and open to the public. Thank you to the Alpine Library Friends Association for their generous support!
See you at the library!
