The county of San Diego, including Alpine and the back country, remain in the purple tier of COVID-19 restrictions, as mandated by the state.
Under the conditions businesses such as bars and restaurants are required to operate at limited capacity, provide outdoor or takeaway service only or shut down altogether.
Also, a modified stay-at-home order has been issued directing people to stay home between the hours of 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. unless they are essential workers. Exemptions include those who are grocery shopping, picking up takeout food or walking in their immediate neighborhood.
As of Monday there were 322 reported cases of COVID-19 in Alpine.
