CHAMBER CHATTER: Chamber adds events, activities for a new year

It’s going to be a busy, productive and fun year for Alpine Chamber of Commerce members and the community!

Watch for the return of the annual Alpine Leadership and Public Service (ALPS) Awards, a new free quarterly online and hard copy Cham­ber magazine and a series of free workshops for Chamber members and invited guests during 2019.

The monthly Hot Topics Business Breakfast meetings, engaging mixers and exciting commu­nity activities are also booked as the Chamber turns the pages of its new calendar to promote Alpine.

“The calendar gives people notice as much as possible so they can participate in as many events and activities as possible,” said Chamber Execu­tive Director Alex Ward.

The ALPS Awards are now scheduled for Fri­day, Sept. 27; the 4th of July Parade with the Ki­wanis Club of Alpine and the Alpine Community Center as partners, July 4, and the spectacular Al­pine Village Christmas Parade of Lights & Snow Festival on Dec. 6.

Watch for information about a new special com­munity event planned for April 13!

The Chamber’s monthly membership “Hot Topics Business Breakfasts” are always the sec­ond Tuesday of each month —- Jan. 8, Feb. 12, March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct.8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10 in 2019.

Held at different locations, the informative “Hot Topic”networking sessions include the latest news about Chamber, member and community activi­ties. The breakfast meetings always start at 7:15 a.m. and usually finish by 8:45 a.m.

The third Thursday of each month in 2019 is for special evening Chamber mixers on Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 21, April 18, May 16, June 20, July18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19.

Chamber members will learn how to improve business, membership and other needs at the new workshops on Jan. 23; April 24; July 24 and Oct. 23.

The two sessions at noon and 5 p.m. on each date will be in the Alpine Library at 1752 Alpine Blvd.

Expect the quarterly magazines promoting Chamber members on Feb. 15, May 17, Aug. 16 and Nov.15.

Open to the public, the Chamber board meet­ings at 6 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month will be on Jan. 31, Feb. 28, March 28; April 28, May 30, June 27, July 25, Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31.

Board meetings are held at the Chamber office in the Alpine Regional Center, Ste. 208, 1620 Al­pine Blvd. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Chamber office will be closed for Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 21; Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 18; the day after Easter, Mon­day, April 22; Memorial Day, Monday, May 27; Fourth of July, Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5; Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2; Columbus Day, Mon­day Oct. 14; Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 28 -30, and Christmas through New Year’s Day, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Alpine Woman’s Club will hold its Attic Treasures Sale from Friday, Feb. 1, through Sun­day, Feb. 3, at the Alpine Historic Town Hall!

The sale will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fri­day and Saturday at the Town Hall at 2156 Alpine Blvd. The Sunday sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gently used items for the Attic Treasures Sale may be donated at the Town Hall from 8 a.m. to noon from Jan. 22 through Jan. 25 and from Jan. 28 through Jan. 30.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Alpine Woman’s Club Scholarship, Preservation and Edu­cation Foundation!
