One hundred percent of Girl Scout Cookie Program proceeds stay local, making the magic of Girl Scouting available and affordable in San Diego and Imperial counties and benefitting more than 23,000 youth and adult members. Cookie program funding benefits more than 23,000 youth and adult members through year-round leadership development programs, volunteer training, outdoor adventures at Girl Scout Summer Camp, property maintenance, financial assistance, and more.

“The Girl Scout Cookie Program is so much more than a beloved tradition—it is a launching pad for the next generation of leaders, empowering girls to dream big and take charge of their futures,” said Carol M Dedrich, CEO of Girl Scouts San Diego in a press release. “This iconic program ‘unboxes the future’ for our local Girl Scouts, equipping them with vital and out-of-the-box entrepreneurial and life skills that open doors to endless possibilities. Together with the community, we celebrate the innovative spirit of these young entrepreneurs as they learn new skills, explore different career fields, create meaningful change, and make the world a better place.”

Through the cookie program, girls learn five essential life and business skills—goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—while growing in confidence and leadership. They also earn individual rewards and troop funding for travel, community service projects, and badge workshops.
