Students in the Mountain Empire School District who registered by Oct. 30 can attend a Fall Break Camp at area schools.
The camps will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25-27 at all elementary school sites in the Mountain Empire area. Camp activities include sports, cooperative games, arts and crafts and STEM projects.
If students missed the registration deadline parents can place them on a wait list by calling (619) 473-9022, ext. 117.
Hop aboard the North Pole Limited beginning in late November as Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum in Campo hosts a 90-minute train ride through breathtaking scenery along the San Diego-Arizona Railway.
The holiday-themed ride will feature an “elf” crew entertaining passengers with sing-alongs and stories. During the ride Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit passengers.
Trains depart Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 29-Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

- Pantry Friday: Every other Friday is Pantry Friday for Campo Elementary families. Bags of food pantry items are available to interested families.
Pantry items will be available for pick-up at the school. Students in 2nd – 6th grade will be able to take items home on the bus.
