For The Alpine Sun
Nancy Lopez, Hall of Famer with the Ladies Professional Golf Association, picked a perfect, low 80’s, Alpine day to host an LLFG Golf Clinic at the Sycuan Resort.  The Ladies Links Fore Golf hosts Clinics around the country for new golfers and those that just need a few tips to help with their game.  We watched Nancy Lopez warm up with some spectacular hits and then visit with the participants who were going to play a round of golf with her.

Nancy was a pioneer with the LPGA and started the Corporation LLFG with other professional players to go to different venues and host Clinics to help players ‘grow in golf’.
Nancy loves to mentor young players on Tour and lets them know they can call her anytime with questions or just for a pep talk.  She has also done some things with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) which she says is fun because the young girls are walking around all wide-eyed, and their parents are also there.  She often tells the girls to love what they do because they will be the best if they love it.
People had come from all over Southern California to garner tips from the ‘pro’.  One couple from Orange County needed tips on their ‘short’ game.  The short game is where all the points accumulate.
Another group from the Coronado Womens Club and one from the LLFG were just happy and excited to spend time with Lopez on this gorgeous day.  As everyone signed up and found their teams, and where to start, they were handed some bling from the different vendors:  golf gloves, metallic golf balls and hats were just a few of the gifts.
After the golf game there was a Q & A session and a dinner for all to revel in their games and to enjoy each others’ company.
