A little sugar, a little spice, gum drops and candies and everything nice make these works of art!

Gingerbread houses are almost synonymous with Christmas!  They are almost as essential as the Christmas lights and tree.  Every year Christ the King Episcopal Church has this fun and flavor-able event to spread some Christmas joy and have fun with family & friends.

Gingerbread houses are almost synonymous with Christmas!  They are almost as essential as the Christmas lights and tree.  Every year Christ the King Episcopal Church has this fun and flavor-able event to spread some Christmas joy and have fun with family & friends.

At the event, artistic decorators could purchase a blank gingerbread house and decorate it with a white frosting roof and candied accessories.  Gumdrops and peppermint swirls, candy canes and licorice whips all adorned the gingerbread architecture.  Fathers helped their sons, and mothers helped their daughters, while other children who were creatively bent, pressed on with their own designs drawing sugary windows and doors, festooned with sweet treats for trims.

Tickets for each gingerbread house were $20 each, and a portion of the proceeds went to benefit Boulder Oaks Elementary School, as well as church ministries.  Hot dogs, and goodies were available for lunch, and to add to the holiday cheer of the day there were Christmas Carols to sing, souvenier photos in front of a life-sized gingerbread house and crafts available for purchase.

The day was a complete success as everyone enjoyed a sweet afternoon full of gingery good times.
