Colleges open for bid-ness

The opening bid for a John Deere Gator Utility vehicle, that does not start, was $3.75 earlier this week.

If you’re in the market for a pommel horse, stethoscope or industrial refrigerator, the Grossmont-Cuyamaca College District may be the place for you.

The district has launched its annual fall online auction, open to private parties and businesses.

The District conducts regular surplus sales as part of its sustainability efforts in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint, repurposing equipment and technology that would otherwise remain unused or go to a landfill, according to the district.

Organizers said a variety of items will be available including:

  • Pommel horses
  • Balance beam
  • Air purifiers
  • Additional donated items from academic and operational departments include:
  • Industrial refrigerator
  • Medical training equipment: dummies, stethoscopes
  • Other gymnastics equipment: uneven bars, spring-loaded platforms
  • Vehicles
  • Office equipment: printers, desktops, laptops, industrial coffee makers
  • Chemistry lab equipment More items can be viewed at http://calauctions.com.

Grossmont College’s auction ends Nov. 17.

Cuyamca College’s auction ends Nov. 18
