February of each year, we celebrate American Heart Month. The first heart month occurred in February of 1964 after it was proclaimed by President Lyndon B Johnson. Since then, Congress has regulated the President of the United States to make an annual proclamation designating February of each year as American Heart. A good time to learn CPR or get re-certified.

Would you know how to respond if your child stopped breathing or someone you love had a heart attack? As parents we all want the very best for our children. However, when it comes to knowing what to do if our child stops breathing, we panic and call 911.

Every year we hear about a child who drowned in a family pool because no one knew how to perform CPR. If CPR is administered within four minutes the child has a good chance of surviving with no brain damage. After four minutes the child can have severe brain damage and after parents would like to know how to perform CPR but with their busy schedules it is difficult to find the time to attend a class.

The good news is now you can learn CPR online in the comfort of your own home. Just go to www.cprpros.com. This course was created for people who have never taken a CPR course. It includes simple language with interactive animations, graphics and illustrations. You will learn how to perform CPR on a child, infant and adult. You will also learn the Heimlich Maneuver and what to do for drowning.

Another benefit for taking CPR online is that you can give your user name and password to all your family members, baby sitters and friends. You receive a certification card and they learn how to save a life. Now more people than ever before people can learn these life saving skills. It is so simple even young children can learn CPR.

The most frequently asked question is, “How can you learn CPR without practicing on a manikin?” Everything we learn in life is in our mind. By watching the animations and reading the text you become the rescuer. You can use your own body to find your pulse and where to compress. You can even have your children beside you so you can locate their pulse and compress landmark. And you can do it over and over again until you feel comfortable.
