Honored guests included County Supervisor Ron Roberts, past SDG&E chairman Tom Page, an official from the California Public Utility Commission as well as a member of the Federal Energy Commission. The keynote speaker was Governor Jerry Brown whose speech included praise for SDG&E and Sempra Energy’s aggressive actions to fight global warming by planning for the future with a 30% reduction in the use of fossil fuels and the cutting edge technology of wind and solar power generation. The Governor remarked on the protestors on the road saying: “People are always objecting to progress like our proposed bullet train, our water conservation plans and of course our desire to provide clean and abundant electrical energy for all of California. I always listen to those who object to my plans, but after listening to them and passing the EIR reviews, I say that we must simply Crush Them. The needs of all Californians must come first.”

Following the Governors speech, former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke of the need for green energy in California and thanked Governor Brown for continuing the plans that he had introduced during his term. Schwarzenegger went on to say that we must do all we can to save California and the Planet from Global warming.

After the dedication ceremony, a catered refreshment event inside a huge tent was available to all whom attended.
