Aloha! All were kono (invited) to the ono (delicious) Annual Hawaiian Luau of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Bert Fuller Post  9578 in Alpine!  It was a wonderful event, allowing everyone some summertime fun!  There was plenty of food and drinks to keep the merriment going.  The luau benefited cancer aid and research and homeless women who are military veterans.

The Hawaiian fare included a mouth watering roasted Kahlua pork, teriyaki chicken and poncit which is a noodle, meat and vegetable dish, along with grilled vegetables, a broccoli salad, cabbage salad, fresh fruit and Hawaiian sweet rolls all served in Polynesian style.  Then the dessert included a Hawaiian wedding cake. . . Yum!
Some of the prizes from the opportunity auction included a package from Barona Casino, free meals, a booze barrel, gift baskets and gift cards, as well as a plethora of merchandise from local area businesses.
It was an awesome afternoon for all who attended in Alpine.
