Old West Walking Down

The old west was walking down Alpine Boulevard on Tuesday morning leading his horse and his mule. He was on a trek from Yuma, Arizona, heading to Mexico, on foot to retire. The picture of Cuervo, leading his horse Rock and Roll, and his mule Cocky Walker brought to mind images of Gunsmoke.

Some Alpiners may have seen this little band, taking a rest on the eastern end of Alpine Boulevard. The horse and mule were tied up to a tree munching on some brush and Cuervo was taking a rest in the shade. It was a sight to see, right out of the old west. Cuervo had some interesting stories about his adventures traveling across country. He has been hassled by people who don’t understand his situation, and those who think that his animals may not be cared for, however, his animals seem to be very healthy and very happy. Here at The Alpine Sun, Rock and Roll and Cocky Walker shared a shiny red delicious apple, and were so friendly.
