Staying cool in the pool

Air conditioning is one way to stay cool this summer; swimming or dipping in a pool is another. But not everyone has access to a friend’s or neighbor’s pool or a public pool. There are ways around that.
According to USA Today an increasing number of hotels and resorts are opening their pools to locals and travelers not staying overnight and are using outside services like ResortPass, DayAxe, Daycation, and DayPass to offer up the amenities.
A number of local hotels and resorts offer day passes to their pools. Pools that are available in the area for day use are as close as Viejas Resort Casino and Sycuan Casino Repost.
Viejas Casino & Resort offers ResortPass. Cabanas can accommodate up to 6 people, feature a large outdoor heated pool, whirlpool, fan, safe for valuables, flat screen tv, and more.
Their posted hours are for pools and cabanas are 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. with a cabana rental fee of $100 for day use.
The Sycuan Casino Resort, just outside of Alpine, offers up three pools one of which is their lazy river; one that has a swim-up bar, and a family pool. A Retreat Day Pass is for $25 weekdays and $35 for a weekend pass.
The retreat also offers live DJs, food, cabanas and pool side daybeds. According to staff, towels are provided.
