HOW WOULD YOU PROPOSE THE COUNTY ADDRESS FREQUENT TRAFFIC COLLISIONS ON TAVERN ROAD?

I see the problem as rush hour congestion at the Tavern freeway entrance and exit. A possible solution would be to add another off-ramp to our community, potentially at East Victoria where the Albertson’s shopping center is located. This would give residents another option and relieve congestion at Tavern Road.

Yes, this is a ongoing discussion that our chairperson keeps on our agenda for each meeting. I believe a huge part is speed, cars speed too much and often seem distracted. But I would be remiss if I didn’t put some of the blame on our poor road conditions up here in Alpine. I would propose that the county have a bigger focus on the roads of Alpine and the surrounding area and possibly insert random speed bumps along some roads to get people to slow down.

The current problem is speed. I would like first to get the community input on another stop sign or light and/or decreasing speed on the different roads before I suggest a solution to the County. I do believe that we need more support from law enforcement in helping with the current issue on our roads.
