For The Alpine Sun
This year’s Chili Cook-off drew in Alpine with the lure of shiny Classic Cars and spicy chili. Many brought their culinary skills, and their tangy ingredients to the Alpine Community Center park to share their best recipes for mouth watering, or maybe even eye tearing chili.

There were chunky chilis, mild chilis, HOT chilis, and savory chilis. This event is anticipated every year to share in the comraderie of the art of cooking. Some participants take days to perfect their creations. The winners were: First Place: Meat Your Maker, Second Place: Red Hot Chili Breakers, Third Place: VFW Hall. The People’s Choice Award also went to the VFW.
The Best Booth decorations were awarded to the Red Hot Chili Breakers.
