On June 6 Alpine Elementary School students and their parents flew to Sacramento for a field trip, arranged by Holt Travel, to discover and learn about California history past and present. The first stop was the State Capitol where the tour guide explained about the history of the building and how legislative process works. The next stop was Sutter’s Fort where the students learned about the history of John Sutter and how people lived in the fort back in the 19th century.

Our next stop was the Sacramento History Museum where the students went on a scavenger hunt and then on to the Sacramento Railroad museum to see the trains of yesteryear. To end a great day, everyone enjoyed shopping and browsing in Old Sacramento before heading to the airport for the short flight home. This was a day packed full of history and fun.
