County Board of Supervisors approve 10 million for Alpine Library

Good news, Alpine residents: The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a preliminary county budget that includes nearly $10 million for a new library in the community. The project has been on the community’s wish list — and mine — for a long time. If the budget gets the final okay next month, construction could begin on Arnold Way, next to the Alpine Community Center, by mid-2014. Below are conceptual renderings of the 13,500-square-foot building. I’m proud of what communities and the county have done over the years to improve libraries across East County!
