The 35th Annual Kiwanis Junior Olympics event was held on January 23, at the new turf field at Alpine Elementary. This year approximately 100 participants arrived to compete in many events that included 3 new events. This all combined to almost double our attendance over the previous few years
The weather held out and provided a perfect day for our athletes.  The Amazing Dana provided another outstanding magic show for the kids while scores were being tallied.  Thanks to all our Kiwanis volunteers, Nike employees, Zumba instructor (Tiffany O’Reilly) and master score talliers, Jake Palmer and Max Hagman!
Reports from workers at the event were appreciative at the new field, and the wonderful new area for the children to compete.  Dick Rabell said, “I can’t believe the young boys throwing the ball out over thirty meters.  These are ten and eleven year olds.”  His great grandson was also a participant in the event.
