Supervisor Dianne Jacob helped to cut the ribbon on the new county ball fields at the Pine Valley County Park on Wedneday February 17.  This project was funded by the County General Fund, and cost around 1.5 million dollars according to Jessica Geiszler, a representative from the County of San Diego.
This peaceful 17 acre park now features 81,500 square feet of recycled artificial turf, a regulation soccer field and an adjustable baseball diamond that can accommodate all skill levels and age groups by moving the bases appropriately.
Dianne Jacob posted for her facebook followers, “I had a blast at the ribbon-cutting today for the new county ball fields out in beautiful Pine Valley.

It’s a great gathering spot for the community, and gives our kids and others a fun, safe place to play. Thank you, Pine Valley Planning Group and others, for all your input and hard work.”
Prior to this revamp, the children of the community had to trave west to Alpine or south to Camp ot play baseball or soccer.  The first games to be played on the fields are scheduled  in March.
The fields are subject to reservation.
For scheduling of the park, reservations ar open and can be made by calling Kirk Carmichael at 858-0673-3900. It was mentioned that the community of Pine Valley will receive priority, as it is their community park, but these fields are available for use by all the county residents.
