Nonprofit’s ‘Wild’ fundraiser a party for animals

Lions Tigers & Bears is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year, Wild in the Country set for May 20, from 2-6 p.m., with a pre-event reception for Platinum and Gold Level ticketholders from 1-2 p.m.

“It is our annual fundraiser, our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Lions Tigers and Bears Founder Bobbie Brink. “We will have Jeffrey Strauss from Pamplemousse Grille, and the stars from ‘Phantom of the Opera’ singing. And live and silent auctions. The gift store is open. It is open house for the animals, and just a good fun day that raises a lot of most needed money for the animals.”

Brinks said that the sanctuary, located in Alpine, she believes many people do not even know it is there, and she hopes this event will bring more awareness to the sanctuary, what it does, and the animals that it serves.

This event is emceed by Magic 92.5 FM Magic Mornings radio personalities Jagger & Kristi. Jeffrey Straus, Pamplemousse Grille Executive Chef and owner Jeffrey Strauss catering food for the event. And, husband and wife team Sandra Joseph and Ron Bohmer, both lead actors in Broadway’s “Phantom of the Opera” performing for guests for the Dinner Show. And the ability to visit the big cats and bears living in the sanctuary.
