The 11th Annual Lake Jennings Spring Photo contest is now open and accepting submissions.
Organized by the Helix Water District, the contest is open to anyone who submits a photo demonstrating the theme “Life at the Lake.” A free day pass is available to participants access, explore and photograph the reservoir. Divided into two divisions, adult and youth, first-place winners in each division will receive $150, second-place $100, and third-place $50, presented at a June public board meeting. Judging will be performed by a panel of Helix Water District staff, based on this year’s theme, visual appeal, technical quality and creativity.
“This is a fun way of being able to capture those is through this contest,” said District Public Affairs Vince Dambrose. “We will have photographers out there enjoying beautiful Lake Jennings, but also being able to submit their photos to us. In turn, we use it to promote the lake and help get more people out there so they can all the joy, beauty, and great things out there.” Participants must submit entries digitally to photocontest@helixwater.org by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31. There is a limit of three photo submissions per photographer, and photos may not contain watermarks.
