Pinup pets for a cause

The San Diego Humane Society is looking for its next pin-ups.

The 34th annual Photo Fundraiser is underway and the animal welfare group is encouraging the public to turn in photos of their pets.

“Our community’s passion for their pets is unmatched, and this fundraiser is the perfect way to celebrate that bond,” said Brian Daugherty, executive vice president at San Diego Humane Society. “Whether your pet is a recent rescue or a long-time family member, entering them in the contest ensures that other animals across our region get the second chance they deserve.”

The contest is open to all companion animals, from dogs and cats to lizards and birds.

Participants are asked to upload their pet’s photo to sdhumane.org/photocontest. Every vote costs $1.

Those who enter the contest are encouraged to ask their friends, family, and social media followers to vote.

This year’s top-voted pets will be featured on a special page inside the 2027 San Diego Humane Society Calendar,

Proceeds help the San Diego Humane Society care for more than 40,000 animals annually across its campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego.
