Sanctuary open to day campers

Alpine’s Lions Tigers & Bears big cat and bear sanctuary is holding single day youth camps on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 16 for children 8 to 11 years old. Children are invited to choose one Wednesday this summer to learn about rescued exotic animals and participate in games and crafts. Through guided visits, campers get the chance to be outdoors and see some of the 65-plus rescued exotic animals, including lions, tigers, bears, bobcats, jaguars and more, who can now call the sanctuary their home.

“We show campers the care and compassion it takes to provide for 19 species of our rescued animals,” said Lions Tigers & Bears Founder and Director Bobbi Brink in a press statement. “Our camp’s young attendees will gain an understanding of the importance of our no kill, no breed sanctuary and share the love for our animals with our staff and volunteers.”
