See you at the library!

By Susan del Castillo

Hello Library Friends,

Get crafty at the library this November! We’re offering several creative workshops for adults and teens ages 12 and up. All materials are provided, and each program includes handson instruction so you can make something beautiful to take home. Registration is required at sdcl. org/alpine for all craft programs.

On Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10:30 a.m. – noon, join us for a Sustainable Floral Wreath Workshop. Design your own seasonal wreath using a wire frame, foliage, and ribbon provided by the library. You’re welcome to bring your own foraged leaves, stems, or favorite embellishments to make it uniquely yours.

Then, on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., create a cute and cozy cloth pumpkin decoration – perfect for fall.

Finally, don’t miss our DIY Beaded Earrings workshop on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 a.m. – noon. Choose from a colorful selection of beads and make earrings for yourself or gifts for friends and family.

Thank you to the Alpine Library Friends Association for sponsoring these fun workshops!

Our weekly children’s story times, designed to promote early literacy and social connection, continue throughout the month. Join us before they pause for the December break!

On Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., children actively participate in stories, music, and movement that enhance their social, emotional, and language development, with playtime afterwards.

On Fridays at 10:30 a.m., babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme, and repetition. Plan on a fifteen-minute program with time for baby and caregiver socializing afterwards. This program is geared toward pre-walkers.

We are thankful for your patronage and look forward to seeing you at the library this month!
