Animal sanctuary turns meal into online fundraiser

Lions Tigers & Bears, Southern California’s only accredited big cat and bear sanctuary, planned its Winter Livestream Fundraiser on Nov. 20.

The event streamed live on YouTube and Facebook and was a virtual all-access pass to the sanctuary, packed with behind-the-scenes tours, interactive moments, and heartwarming animal stories—all while raising crucial funds to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide lifelong care for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. Actor Alan Wray Tudyk was special guest host.

Set on a scenic 142-acre ranch in Alpine, the sanctuary is home to more than 60 rescued exotic and domestic animals — think majestic big cats and gentle bears.

Since opening in 2002, Lions Tigers & Bears has provided a haven with spacious natural habitats, expert veterinary care, and programs that inspire compassion and raise awareness about the exotic animal trade. The nonprofit is accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association.

“Caring for so many rescued animals is a labor of love, but it comes with significant costs,” said Founder and Director Bobbi Brink. “Every donation and every hour spent with us online makes a real difference.

This livestream is a way for the community to help these animals get the second chance they deserve.” The livestream was packed with something special every hour: a welcome and an introduction to the sanctuary and its mission, then amazing stories of rescue and rehabilitation while a matching donor challenge was announced. Viewers also got to meet the caretakers and learn about day-to-day care, celebrate volunteers and community supporters, and finished with interviews, a final donation push, and a celebration of reaching the donation goal.

For those who couldn’t watch the full day, there are still ways to help. Donations, volunteer opportunities, and sponsorship details are available at https://www.lionstigersandbears.org

Every contribution, big or small, helps these incredible animals live safe, happy lives. Whether you tune in for an hour or the full event, this livestream is your chance to meet amazing animals, celebrate their caregivers, and support a cause that truly changes lives.
