- Create collaboration and ensure transparency between the ACPG board and Alpine community members. 2. Create greater awareness and encourage community involvement in upcoming community projects. 3. Create a social media presence (Facebook page) for the ACPG where residents can go to get the latest information. 4. Act as a collaborative and productive member of the board. 5. Help the community plan for the future in a thoughtful way, making sure to listen to the needs of the community.
Erika Simmons
My top priorities are: 1) Safety in Alpine is clearly the highest priority for residents. Alpine residents want more sidewalks and safer paths for our children to walk and ride bikes. Alpine residents have repeatedly shared their concerns related to traffic safety on Tavern Road, Alpine Boulevard, and South Grade near Wright’s Field. We need to be mindful of this as we make decisions that increase traffic and affect traffic in Alpine. 2) There is a high level of concern related to traffic and safety around Wright’s Field. The Alpine Planning Group needs to hear the residents and make recommendations to the County that address the concerns of Alpine residents. 3) Alpine wants and needs more social options for children and especially our teens. As a community, we need to support parents to provide social options in our community. 4) Listening to the community is a top priority. The more I listen to members of the community, the more I hear what Alpine residents truly want. 5) The message I repeatedly hear from Alpine residents is that they want transparency from all government- related boards and community organizations. I support transparency with all decisions made by the Alpine Community Planning Group, including live casting planning group meetings.

- Bring a sense of trust from the community back to the ACPG 2. Listen, we must show the community that they are heard and we do this by being slow to speak and acknowledge the desires and comments of those who vote us in to our positions. 3. Transparency, we can easily stop gossip and false information if we are more transparent and I think Alpine Community Network is a great start to this and I thank them for all they do to keep the community informed. 4. To ensure members of the Planning Group are not bringing own agendas to the table and that we remain community first. 5. Be Proactive. If the community emails us, respond! If the community asks a question we don’t know, do our homework and get back to them! We as a team have to remember we are the Alpine Community Planning Group, keep Alpine first in all of our votes and recommendations.
