It’s fall y’all! Our library staff love this time of year. Here’s what we’ve got going on in October.
Henna Tattoos will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Local artist Natasha Papousek will give teens henna and glitter tattoos. It’s a simple and creative way to try something new!
From Oct. 20 through 31, families can join our Cryptid Scavenger Hunt. Bigfoot, Mothman, and other mysterious creatures are hiding in the Children’s Area. Visit the library anytime during these dates to see how many you can find.
Miss Marae’s Boogie and Boo! will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. This Halloween themed program includes live music, puppets, dancing, bubbles, and not so spooky fun for young children. Costumes encouraged!
The Alpine Library is proud to serve as a Vote Center for the Gubernatorial General Election.
Starting Oct. 24, you can register to vote and cast your ballot at the library. For more information, call the Registrar of Voters at (858) 565‑5800 or visit sdvote.org.
Because our community room will be used for election services, Feeling Fit Club classes on Fridays, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 2 – 3 p.m. will be held at Alpine Community Church at 2225 West Victoria Drive. This program for older adults helps build strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance, and is sponsored by County of San Diego Aging and Independence Services.
All library programs are free and open to the public. We hope you’ll visit us for these events and much more this month! Thank you to the Alpine Library Friends Association for their generous support.
