The San Diego Back Country raises, in my opinion, some of the best kids in the county. Each year, the MEMC interviews each individual scholarship applicant. During the interview, we really get to know what drives these young adults and the Scholarship Panel is amazed. I must say that it truly warms our hearts to know that these kids are the future of our country. The parents of these outstanding students should be proud.
Winners of 2013 MEMC Scholarships and The Carlos Hernandez Memorial Scholarship this year are:
Mikala Aragon, Natalie Cucjen, Michelle Lavin, Kylie Dessel, Kyra Smith, Michael Glover, Emily Cucjen, Daniel Clauser, Alexis Montoya, Nicholas Weiss, Elisabeth Rodarte, Alexander Curiel, Limna Oteo, Sonia Rodriguez, Megan Meyers, Shannon Arguilez, Jason Cook, Aaron Mora, Anthony Gonzalez, and Justin Phillips
Of course, without the support of the Back Country community, MEMC Scholarships simply would not happen. Through your support of our fundraisers, help from other organizations and local businesses, the young men and women of the Mountain Empire are receiving needed financial help in furthering their education.
