SAN DIEGO—U.S. Border Patrol San Diego Sector graduated 86 young adults on Saturday at the completion of the 14th U.S. Border Patrol Explorers Academy.
The academy was held June 19-27, 2015, on Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California.  The young adults, ranging in age from 14 to 20 years old, represented 13 Border Patrol Stations and four Border Patrol Sectors (San Diego, El Centro, Yuma, and Tucson).  The days were long and strenuous and the training included physical fitness, classroom instruction, hands-on law enforcement scenarios, and team building exercises.
The Border Patrol Explorer program provides young adults with an in-depth knowledge of law enforcement careers; promotes self-confidence, self-discipline, and responsibility; while engaging in volunteer activity in the community. The program also provides knowledge about U.S. Border Patrol programs and an opportunity to interact with other young adults sharing the same goals and interests.
For more information on the program or to become an Explorer, contact your local U.S. Border Patrol Station or see U.S. Border Patrol Explorers to access an online application.
