Guests talked with military veterans while enjoying the celebration at the Post at 844 Tavern Road. Presented by the Ambassadors of the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce, all Chamber “Red Hot” promotional events are open to the public.

It was a red, white and blue “Red Hot & Moving to the Top” open house on March 18 at VFW Bert Fuller Post 9578 in Alpine!
Guests talked with military veterans while enjoying the celebration at the Post at 844 Tavern Road. Presented by the Ambassadors of the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce, all Chamber “Red Hot” promotional events are open to the public.
“We are honored today to give this presentation to the VFW Post 9578,” Chamber Vice Chairman Frank Sturniolo of REACH Air Medical Services and owner of Drive By Mobile Signs said as he gave the Post a Chamber Certificate of Recognition and a basket of goodies. “It’s a great organization that supports the community. It’s a great facility.”
David Yerkanyan of State Senator Joel Anderson’s office presented the Post with a certificate praising its continued support and dedication to veterans.
Chamber Director Darryl Bush of Keller Williams Realty gave the Post the Chamber Ambassadors’ “Red Hot” certificate.
“The VFW has been a critical part of Alpine’s recognition and growth,” Bush said.
Chamber Director and 201Alpine Honorary Mayor Rose Signore of Postal Annex of Alpine; Chamber Ambassador Chairwoman Sallie Brown of Mary Kay Cosmetics and Chamber staff also attended.
Businesses and organizations can win “Red Hot” events at the Chamber’s monthly “Hot Topics Breakfast” meetings.
“We formed in January of 1973,” Post Chaplain Theo Bazdorf said during a brief Post history. “Nobody has a space like we have here. Our sunsets are outstanding.”
The key mission of the Post is helping veterans. A scholarship and relief fund has been developed to help veterans and their widows.
“We need contacts for any veterans that need help,” Post Commander Jack Gauthier said. “We can always use volunteers.”
The hilltop Post building with its enclosed veranda, spectacular views, indoor and outdoor bars, meeting space and outside picnic area is available for public events, meetings and celebrations.
Popular VFW events for the community, visitors and tourists include Friday night dinners with karaoke, Saturday night steak dinners and Sunday morning Champagne Brunches.
“All are welcome to visit here, to come here, spend time with the veterans,” said Post Quartermaster Carl Silva. “It’s important to veterans to feel that they are part of the community. We’re going to do more and more to reach out to citizens so we can all be part of the team.”
