Do you remember coming home to find that your mom has just baked a batch of cookies a couple of loaves of bread, and maybe a cake. The aroma that wafts out to greet you is incredible, and you find yourself instantly hungry!
When you visit Viejas, Cookie Corner is that place that brings that kind of memory flooding back to you. And, if your mom did not bake, it can let you know what it was like for those of us who had mom’s that baked!

We had the pleasure of visiting Patty Iverson, the owner last Friday just to chat about her new business venture. She began her bakery back in April after a complete remodel of her space at Viejas. She has six employees, mostly family operated and has enjoyed offering the best baked items to all who walk through her doors. Her motto is, “If you can think it, we can create it.”
We sampled her berry cobbler, made with fresh blueberries, warm from the oven, and a scrumptious chocolate espresso cupcake along with a blueberry pancake cupcake with maple frosting. There was also a warm maple pecan cookie that crumbled at the touch, and melted in the mouth. Added to this was a croissant that had the perfect buttery crust and soft chewy layered crumb. This was all accompanied by a mellow full bodied, hot coffee that provided the perfect sip after all that sweetness.
Aside from the baked goodies, Patty has opened her shop to offer other items from artisans around the area.. She offers specialty soaps, jewelry, and signs.
The Cookie Corner has a special offering for this holiday season. She is offering pre-ordered Thanksgiving pies that include: Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Berry Cobbler. Each item is priced between $12 and $14. There is also a Pumpkin Gingersnap Cheesecake that promises to feed 14 people generously. This dessert is a little more expensive.
