Would you like to step back in time and enjoy a few moments in a kinder and gentler era?  Do you appreciate Victorian attire? Love hats? Harbor a secret desire to sport a feather boa? Or maybe you’d rather just sit back and admire those who do, while dining on delicate and delicious, finger sandwiches, fresh baked scones and cream, petit fours and other sweets.  You are invited!

Come sup with us and sip fragrant hot tea as members of the San Diego Costume Guild recreate “A Day in Queen Victoria’s Time” while modeling and describing the historic garb of the period.
This year’s Victorian Tea promises to be the best ever. The food will be delicious and plentiful; the company delightful, the entertainment both unusual and educational. And who doesn’t love elegant clothing??
While many of our regular guests look forward to the annual Tea as an opportunity to recapture the childlike delight of times past, engage in bright conversation and dainty treats, there is something deeper going on.  The Tea is one of two major fundraising events put on each year to raise scholarship funds for local high school students.  Over the years, the Alpine Woman’s Club has given away over $100,000 in scholarships to Alpine, or East County, students.  It is our goal to increase the scholarships given this year to at least $6,000.00. Tickets to the Victorian Tea are being offered at $35.00 each
This past year, the Alpine Woman’s Club celebrated its Centennial. In the spirit of  that milestone, the Club has recommitted itself to the tasks given it by the Alpine community all those years ago: to “promote a spirit of community cooperation and to engage in all manner of charitable, social, educational, and recreational endeavors conducive to the public welfare.”  The front of the historic Town Hall has undergone a major “facelift” and reconstruction of a water-damaged 116-year-old foundation was undertaken.  Amidst all that hard work I think it’s time we had a little fun, don’t you?
