The Chamber’s monthly breakfast meeting starts at 7:15 a.m. at the Alpine Community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd.

Have “Breakfast with Santa” and children from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Alpine Community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd.!
Every child receives a gift from Santa Claus. Youngsters can make holiday crafts.
It’s free for children age 3 and under. Tickets are $5 each for youngsters 4 to 9 years old. Adult tickets are $15 each. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Alpine Community Center.

The first official plants to beautify Alpine Boulevard are now on display in front of The Alpine Sun newspaper and at the nearby Alpine Woman’s Club.
Jennifer Tschida, associate publisher of the newspaper and Alpine’s 2018 Honorary Mayor, was there to help celebrate the occasion on Dec. 1 outside the newspaper at 2144 Alpine Blvd.
Six native plants were planted there and another six that same morning at the Alpine Woman’s Club at 2156 Alpine Blvd.
Jon Green, Back Country Land Trust program and outreach director, supervised the planting and provided seminars about caring for native plants.
