For The Alpine Sun
Enthusiasm was sky-high on July 19 at the free Business After Hours Mixer at the San Diego Aerospace Museum in San Diego’s Balboa Park!
Members and guests of the Alpine Mountain Empire, East County, Lakeside, La Mesa and Santee Chambers of Commerce talked about business opportunities and shared ideas as they met new people and greeted friends during the casual evening.
Museum tours included how to “Be The Astronaut,” the current major exhibit. Sallie Brown of Mary Kay Cosmetics, who is chairwoman of the Alpine Chamber’s Ambassadors, safely “landed” a moon vehicle during her virtual astronaut training.
“Once you’ve been to the moon, you don’t have to go anywhere else,” Brown quipped later. “The mixer exceeded my expectations. You felt pampered.”
She said she found new customers and even booked a Mary K Cosmetics party.
“I think that it’s an incredible experience,” Colleen McDade of All Service Property Management, the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber‘s director of proceedings, described the mixer. “It’s good to be at different places.”
Chatting while enjoying good food and drinks under planes hanging above them in the museum’s pavilion, people said they enjoyed the opportunity to meet potential customers, sponsors or organization members at an interesting venue.
Mary Rynearson, President/CEO of the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber, thanked the San Diego East County Chamber for collaborating with the other Chambers for “this networking event to help promote all of our businesses and organizations.”
“If you want to promote your business to Alpine and further in East County, talk to us,” Rynearson told the crowd.
