‘Chuck’ succumbs to prostate cancer

Charles Howard Taylor

Charles Howard Taylor, aka Chuck, 82, of Copperas Cove, Texas, went home to the Lord on June 7, 2021. Chuck passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Chuck fought prostate cancer for over a year before the cancer spread and was untreatable. Chuck chose to use the time he had left to tell his family how much he loved them and to lean closer to Jesus Christ to prepare for his final journey Home. Chuck is now resting with the angels.

Chuck’s favorite job was any job where he was his own boss so he owned and operated an ambulance company, a computer company, a semi truck and a bus and travel company. His true passion was radio and Little League and for many years he was the voice of Alpine Little League. His other passion were his grandchildren and later, his great grandchildren. He loved his family desperately.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Charles Janneberg; his parents, Alonzo and Ruth Taylor; and his beloved fur son Chezzy Charles.

Surviving are his wife, Terry Anne Taylor, Copperas Cove, Texas; Children, Sherri Moyer (Wayne), El Cajon, California, Heather Gumarang (Rey), Caldwell, Texas; three grandchildren, Brock Jacob Janneberg, Brandon Taylor Gumarang, Brittany Anne Steuermann (Nicholas); three great grandchildren, Braelyn Christine Kerrigan, Kensington Ross Steuermann, Stetson Taylor Steuermann.

Chuck did not know a stranger and so he has left behind plenty of good friends, brother and sister in laws as well as nieces and nephews.

Per Chuck’s request, he was cremated. At a later date, he would like his ashes spread in a favorite spot in Virginia. He requested no Celebration of Life Service, however, we will spend the rest of our lives reflecting on his love for family and his willingness to do anything for anyone who needed a helping hand.

In lieu of flowers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105
