Santa Ysabel Art Gallery is presenting its newest exhibition “Eclectic Vision,” by nationally hailed artist Stan Goudey from Sept. 7 through Oct. 7.
A celebrated figure in the San Diego County arts scene, Goudey’s latest collection is a testament to his profound connection to the world around him – capturing the quiet elegance of still life, the vibrancy of urban and rural landscapes, and the evocative nostalgia of trains.
Goudey is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and studied at The Art Center in Los Angeles, Grossmont College, and San Diego City College. His work, which has earned numerous awards in local, regional, and national shows, reflects his love for capturing the essence of railroads, urban landscapes, figurative scenes and still lifes.
“Painting for me is about growth,” said Goudey in a press release. “It is about human emotions and not just about copying the observable world in all its detail. My constant goal is to try to paint to the standards of the masters, the old ones as well as the new ones.”
Through his skilled use of watercolors, acrylics, and oils, Goudey weaves a captivating narrative. Each piece in “Eclectic Vision” invites viewers to pause, reflect, and lose themselves in the serene and timeless beauty that defines his work.
Visitors can enjoy a special opening reception open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 4-7 p.m.
