Big brown paper bags filled with new clothing, food and children’s items turned the San Diego Estate office in Alpine into North Pole South just before Christmas. With Gift Bag Drive founder Jeff Campbell in charge, San Diego Estates’ staff and volunteers were sorting donations and preparing for deliveries on Dec. 20 at the business at 1935 Alpine Blvd.
“This drive is robust and it’s our 20th anniversary,” said Campbell, who is also Chairman of the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. “We’ve had so many calls from people who look forward to this.”
He said that Joan MacQueen Middle School and the Alpine 4-H Club were among the donors who helped provide items for more than 500 bags.
