As the good old days go, a great Halloween Carnival goes a long way in the memory locker. Halloween was always a time to gather and have fun, dress up, laugh and play games. I remember going to the Halloween Carnival every year, and it was a true highlight for the holiday.

As the good old days go, a great Halloween Carnival goes a long way in the memory locker. Halloween was always a time to gather and have fun, dress up, laugh and play games. I remember going to the Halloween Carnival every year, and it was a true highlight for the holiday.
Halloween has become something that is dedicated to the gore and gruesome, and while I can appreciate the technique of make-up, I can’t help but think that as a society we need to pull the holiday back into a fun festival where adults, teens, and children can enjoy an evening of dressing up, playing games, and reveling in fellowship. Everyday in this modern world, is scarey. We see bombings and trucks running over people in New York. The blood and gore is splashed all over the news every day.
The Alpine Harvest Festival that began at 5 pm until 8 pm was a perfect nod to the traditional Halloween Carnival. This free event was hosted by Alpine Christian Fellowship and was open to the whole community. There were carnival games, jumpers, pony & hay rides, trunk or treat and so much more. Food trucks and carnival snacks were also available offering food choices to offset the candy flood. Alpine Christian Fellowship is located at 9590 Chocolate Summit Dr. El Cajon, CA 92021.
