All of these organizations assembled at the front of Rady Childrens Hospital and were assigned spaces on an immense Red Carpet.  Their job was to create patterns, using Kiwanis Quarters and they were to be judged on their creative designs.  Dave Schmitt, M.M.Q Coordinator, and in charge of the Event said there are 70 separate groups of youngsters and they are issued 2000 quarters to make their design in their allotted place.  Schmidt went on to say that there were 350 youngsters present at the Event and 200 Kiwanians who assisted in feeding the participants breakfast and overseeing the activities.  Schmitt further explained that each Kiwanis Club brings quarters, check or cash to the Event as their donations to Rady Childrens Hospital Pediatric Trauma Unit.  Schmidt estimates that a total of $35,000 was donated by the Kiwanis at The M.M.Q.
