For those of you who enjoy visiting the Pine Valley County Park and it’s serene lawns, and wonderful walking trail, you will notice that they have just completed an extensive remodel of their ball fields.
Starting in February 2015, the Pine Valley County Park began construction to install new synthetic turf sports fields.  The facilities now are available for soccer, football, and baseball.  The construction included remodeling each field from the ground up, removing existing turf, leveling, and installing a new synthetic turf that is believed to be more resilient and drought resistant.
Also installed are new stands for visitors.  The new structure features shade covers, and are a beautiful improvement to the old wooden structures.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit this county park, it is located at 28810 Old Highway 80, in Pine Valley.  This is a day use park with opening and closing hours depending on the daylight savings time.  It is listed as a Horse, Picnic, play and walking park.
The park is an open piece of property that includes 17 acres that is almost entirely covered with lawn.  This is a great place for families to gather for events, and the tall pines and broad oak trees offer nice shade coverage.  There are recreational activities available that include tennis courts, shuffleboard, horseshoes and a complete playground for young children.
